[attr="class","container"] [attr="class","header"]Field Breakdown CHARACTER -- The character most deserving of recognition during the spotlight's allotted timeframe. This character may have been notably active and engaged in a lot of threads. They may have also shown considerable character growth, done something major in a prominent plot, or may have simply had amusing interaction. The character doesn't always need to have accomplished something, but it should be a common cause of consideration. RELATIONSHIP -- The relationship does not have to be a romantic one. Instead the relationship category is wide open for antagonistic relationships, friendly, familial, or romantic ones alike. Which characters have had eye-catching, and memorable interaction with each other? Which characters do you want to thread again in the future? THREAD -- The best read of its time. The best thread nomination should have something that sets it above the other threads. Maybe excellent, almost lyrically prosaic writing? Maybe humor in an uncommon degree, or enough tragedy to inspire a Shakespearian play? Whatever the thread appealed to, it should be an engrossing read, and what that keeps the reader hungry for more. MEMBER -- The member most deserving of attention. Unlike the other categories, this one may not change for some time. The member nomination should be given to helpful, active or simply friendly members, who go above and beyond their duties to Victory. Maybe they've recruited a lot of people, had a ton of threads, or just been a receptive presence in the cbox. Either way, people should be fairly unified in their member nominations. [attr="class","header2"]Spotlight Rules PM Your Spotlights to El: Pretty simple stuff. Nominate Appropriately: Each spotlight should have a specified timeframe for nominations. For instance, January spotlights should receive nominations for characters, members, threads and relationships all active in the month of January. There should not be any nominations from July in there. Be Fair: Don't nominate friends simply because they're your friends. If they have been active and deserving of the recognition, that's perfectly fine. But we will notice if you nominate the same people over and over regardless of their activity. By that same token, you cannot nominate yourself. It's just a matter of good sportsmanship. Two's the Limit: For each category, you can submit two different nominations. This might be expanded later, as we get more members, but for now, two is appropriate to prevent an endless field of ties. In the Event of Ties: Tiebreaker Polls will be posted in the spotlights subforum. They will remain open for the specified time. A second tiebreaker poll may be opened if the categories are still tied, but an option is eliminated. If two threads/characters/relationships remain tied after that point, the rewards will be split appropriately. |
