Shop Overview -- Earning Extra Gold
The Basics
In War, Victory implements a monetary system, complete with a fully automated shop. The monetary system not only serves to equip one's character with material goods, but is also the means through which a character advances. Simply put, everything of worth to your character, regarding skills, talents and spells, specializations, ranks, titles of nobility, physical goods and more, is purchased through our shop system.

This monetary system exists to reward activity, as posts generate gold, or SOVEREIGNS. Every post that a character makes earns him or her FIVE SOVEREIGNS, and starting a thread or topic earns that poster TEN SOVEREIGNS. Obviously, more active individuals will quickly earn large sums of gold, which can then be used to purchase a wide array of goods to either be applied to their current character, or granted to a new character.

All characters will be granted starting equipment and a number of talents, spells and skills in accordance to their ARCHETYPE, which define a character's societal role.

Regardless of a character's ARCHETYPE, all initial characters start out with a RANK of 0. A 0 RANK means that the individual is an average member of a common organization, effectively a grunt, with no influence over said organization. A 0 Rank individual might be a common Circle Mage, Templar, or Dalish Elf. Higher levels of Rank, between 1 through 3 can be purchased within the shop. Each additional level significantly increases an individual's control over their organization.

Lastly, individuals may purchase TITLES, which elevate a new character to nobility. Unlike Rank, titles may not be purchased for an existing character, and must instead be applied to a new character, as sudden elevations to nobility do not occur outside of admin-run plots.

An overview of goods that can be purchased are listed below:

Shop Overview

Physical Goods
PETS AND MOUNTS: Cats, dogs, nugs, birds, mabari, horses, halla, and wyverns. While most animals simply serve as companions or a mode of transportation, some are canny enough to be invaluable, and make ready additions on the field of battle.
ADVENTURING GOODS: Tents, bedrolls, flasks, rations, backpacks, whetstones, lockpicks. Most of these items are essential in the wilderness, but some are equally crucial within the city. Please note that adventuring goods are presently lumped in with miscellaneous goods.
RANGED WEAPONS: Bows, crossbows, staves. Quality of the item can vary, from standard issue to exceptionally well made to magical.
MELEE WEAPONS: Daggers, swords, greatswords, mauls, axes, staves. Quality of the item can vary, from standard issue to exceptionally well made to magical.
ARMOR AND APPAREL: Robes, light armor, medium armor, heavy armor, belts, helmets, boots and gloves. Each type of armor comes free with matching gloves, helmet and boots. The separate apparel is magically enhanced.
SHIELDS: Small, medium, kite and heavy shields. Quality of the item can vary, from standard issue to exceptionally well made to magical.
ACCESSORIES: Coin purses and assorted jewelry. Excellent for rounding out a character's look and becoming a target of pickpocketing.
MISCELLANEOUS: Potions, mirrors, gems, chests and journals. The majority of these items exist to simply add depth to your character's inventory, but some have valuable uses. Please note that adventuring goods are also included with miscellaneous items.

Social Goods
TITLES: Low, middle and high nobility titles. For each tier of nobility, an individual's wealth, holdings and influence expands. High nobles are second only to royalty.
RANKS: Rank 1, 2 and 3. Each additional level of rank significantly expands the character's control over their organization. Rank 3 members may be the head of an entire group within a nation.
DEEDS: Ships and land. Invaluable during a time when most are serfs. Owning a property of any sort automatically makes one a freeholder, a title that grants some degree of respect.

Level Up
SKILLS: Cross-class skills.
TALENTS: Talents for rogues and warriors.
SPELLS: Spells for mages.
SPECIALIZATIONS: Specializations for all of the classes. Mage specializations are included under spells, and warrior and rogue specializations are included under talents.

Earning Extra

Aside from posting, there are numerous ways for an individual to earn sovereigns.

BONUSES: Characters whom exceed 14 posts per month will receive a bonus allowance of 50 gold. Characters whom exceed 21 posts per month will receive 75 gold. Characters whom exceed 28 posts per month will receive 100 gold.

DONATIONS: Players may donate gold to other players as they desire.

ADVERTISING: Per board advertised on, the player will receive 1 gold. Gold can rack up pretty quickly this way, provided the player provides us with proof of advertisement.

REFERRALS: For every new member a player recruits, that player will receive 25 gold. If that member remains active for two months' time, the recruiter will earn 100 gold, and the recruited will earn 50. Please note that these referrals cannot come from the advertising challenge above.

SPOTLIGHTS: There are four spotlight categories which will award differing amounts of gold to the winners. The first is tie of the month, which awards 75 gold to each of the winning parties. The second is character of the month, which awards 150 gold to the winner. The third is thread of the month, which will award 25 gold for each of the characters involved. And the fourth is member of the month, who will receive 150 gold.

CONTESTS: At any time, the admins may have a contest going for any number of things. The gold amount will vary from contest to contest.

THE LOTTERY: Every two weeks, a lottery will be held. Those that purchase tickets and are lucky enough to win will get the jackpot, which can roll from drawing to drawing. For more information about that, see the lottery thread.

THE CHANTER'S BOARD: At random, the Chanter's Board will be updated with quests of differing scale and difficulty. The update will not be announced, and the thread will not be bumped, meaning that members should be diligent and periodically check it. Chanter's Board quest rewards will vary depending on the quest.
General Rules

It's all pretty generic: No advertising other sites. No spamming. Don't heavily discuss or link to other RP sites. Don't bring in drama. Don't pester people. Don't impersonate other members. And, do not mention any Chantry board updates.
